One of the remarkable aspects of the GKF Scholarship is its potential for renewal. Recipients have the opportunity to renew their scholarship for up to four years, ensuring sustained support throughout their academic endeavors. While a full application is required in the first year, subsequent years only require the submission of a current transcript by the application deadline. It’s important to note that the scholarship is not automatically renewed each year, and the submission of a transcript is necessary for the board’s review.
To apply for the Gavalas Kolanko Scholarship, aspiring students must provide a comprehensive application package. This includes a personal letter highlighting their educational and vocational aspirations, an official transcript showcasing their academic achievements, a small photo to accompany their application, a list of extracurricular activities and memberships in organizations/clubs, and a minimum of two letters of recommendation, with one specifically from a former teacher.
The selection process for the scholarship is conducted by the dedicated Gavalas Kolanko Staff and Board Members. Recipients are chosen based on their academic accomplishments, community involvement, and demonstrated financial need. It is a comprehensive evaluation that considers the potential of each applicant to make a positive impact on both their academic journey and the wider community.
